What is Virtual Health

BIHC is now offering Virtual Health visits in order to meet the community's need for online health solutions and curtail the spread of the novel coronavirus.

What is a virtual health visit?

Virtual health gives you all the wonderful service you’ve been used to at BIHC, but it’s in front of a screen. Virtual care combines clinical care and professional collaboration through digital technologies enabling patients to call, text or video chat with healthcare practitioners using their computers or mobile devices. Virtual care helps to ensure that patients are able to access quality healthcare, providing them with the tools, information and support they need to live healthier and happier lives.

We educate and empower you with home care tools like self mobilization techniques, strength and conditioning, rehabilitative exercises, dietary and lifestyle counselling to help you with your health through these uncertain times.

Who is virtual health for?

These visits are for anyone who can not make it to the clinic for their appointment. This could include (but is not limited to):

  • New mom's trying to juggle newborn's schedules with daily life
  • Professionals whom are stuck at the office and can't get away for an hour
  • Someone living in a remote community with no local clinic to attend
  • Weather limitations
  • Practitioners who wish to consult with "niche" services providers
  • Living in a community with limited resources or specific services
  • Covid-19 pandemic, where social isolation is required

There will always remain circumstances where an in person visit is required ~ but research is continuing to show us that virtual visits can address and treat the same needs, and to the same level of care, for MANY conditions that an in person session can.

What services can I receive via virtual health?

You can receive many of our services via virtual health:

  • Physiotherapy/Chiropractic care (strains, sprains, pain, postural and movement dysfunction)
  • Pelvic Health
  • Exercise Education and Program design
  • Pre and post surgical care/rehabilitation
  • Concussion Rehabilitation
  • Diet & Nutrition Services
