He attained his Honours Bachelor of Science with specialization in Kinesiology degree at the University of Ottawa, where he developed individualized and group training programs for athletes at an elite hockey performance centre. Dr. D’Anna has a personal interest in physical health and takes a biomechanical and neuromuscular functional approach when treating injuries. His goal is to restore pain-free functional motion and preventing injury by identifying the underlying dysfunction and root cause of pain. Using a variety of approaches such as acupuncture, functional movement assessment, manual therapy techniques, and exercise prescription – he has found that the integrated approach combining these techniques yielded the most optimal results for his patients.

Through his own athletic and personal fitness endeavors, he has gained valuable insight on suffering from his own injuries and dysfunction. As a result, Dr. D’Anna understands the true nature of impact on the body and uses this understanding to help others, create individualized treatment plans, and remain passionate to guide all his patients on the best road to recovery.
